President Duzbionjit Singh

To the entire Malaysian powerlifting community,

It is with immense gratitude and humility that I accept the responsibility of serving as the President of the Malaysian Association for Powerlifting (MAP). I am deeply honored by the trust and confidence that our members have placed in me to lead the sport we all love into its next chapter.

Looking back, this journey has been one I never took for granted. From serving as Vice President, to Secretary General, and now President, I have had the privilege of witnessing the growth of Malaysian powerlifting from every perspective. Each role has taught me invaluable lessons, strengthened my commitment to this community, and reinforced my belief that our greatest achievements are always built together. To now be entrusted with leading the sport that I am most passionate about is truly one of the greatest honors of my life.

I would also like to acknowledge those who came before me. Their dedication and contributions have laid the foundation upon which we continue to build today. My commitment, together with the Executive Committee, is to carry that momentum forward with integrity, professionalism, and an unwavering focus on the future of Malaysian powerlifting.

Our vision is clear.

Together with a passionate and dedicated Executive Committee, we are committed to elevating Malaysian powerlifting to new heights. We will continue investing in the development of our athletes, coaches, referees, and volunteers while raising the standard of our competitions both nationally and internationally. We want Malaysian athletes not only to compete with the best in the region, but to stand confidently amongst the very best in the world.

As we strive for excellence on the platform, we must be equally committed to excellence in the way our sport is governed. Strong governance, transparency, accountability, and the consistent application of our Constitution, rules, and regulations are not optional—they are fundamental to protecting the integrity, credibility, and future of Malaysian powerlifting . Every decision we make must always place the interests of the sport and its members first. As President, I will remain steadfast in upholding these principles fairly, consistently, and without compromise.

However, success is measured by more than medals alone.

We must also build a community that every individual is proud to be a part of. Powerlifting should be a place where every athlete, regardless of race, religion, gender, background, or experience level, feels respected, welcomed, and valued. We will continue fostering an environment built upon sportsmanship, integrity, accountability, mutual respect, and camaraderie.

As President, I want to make one commitment abundantly clear: there will be zero tolerance for any form of discrimination, racism, harassment, or conduct that undermines the values of our sport . Every member deserves to train, compete, volunteer, and represent Malaysia in an environment that is safe, fair, and respectful. Protecting that culture will always remain one of my highest priorities.

None of this can be achieved by the Executive Committee alone.

The continued success of Malaysian powerlifting belongs to every coach who gives their time, every referee who ensures fairness, every volunteer working tirelessly behind the scenes, every state association, every supporter in the crowd, and every athlete who steps onto the platform wearing our colours with pride. You are the heart of this federation, and your passion is what continues to drive our sport forward.

I genuinely believe that the future of Malaysian powerlifting has never been brighter. We have the talent, the people, and the shared ambition to build something truly special. If we continue to work together—with unity, respect, and a common purpose—there is no limit to what we can achieve.

Together, let us raise the standard—not only in performance, but in professionalism, governance, and integrity. Let us build a federation that future generations will be proud to inherit, and together, take Malaysian Powerlifting to the next level.

Raising The Standards. Together.
