To the Malaysian Powerlifting community,
It is with immense gratitude and humility that I take on the responsibility of serving as President of the Malaysian Association for Powerlifting (MAP). I am deeply honored by the trust our members have placed in me to lead the sport I am most passionate about into its next chapter.
This journey has been incredibly meaningful—from serving as Vice President, to Secretary General, and now President. Each role has given me a different perspective of our sport and strengthened my commitment to this community. To now have the privilege of leading Malaysian powerlifting is truly one of the greatest honors of my life.
Together with a passionate and dedicated Executive Committee, our focus is clear: to elevate Malaysian powerlifting to new heights. We will continue developing our athletes, coaches, referees, and volunteers while raising the standard of competition both nationally and internationally, with the ambition of seeing Malaysian athletes stand confidently among the best in the world.
But excellence cannot exist without integrity and proper governance. Strong governance, transparency, accountability, and adherence to our Constitution, rules, and regulations are fundamental to protecting the credibility and future of our sport. As President, I will remain committed to upholding these principles fairly, consistently, and without compromise, always putting the interests of the sport and its members first.
At the same time, powerlifting must remain a sport where everyone feels respected, welcomed, and valued, regardless of race, religion, gender, background, or experience. We will continue building a community founded on sportsmanship, integrity, mutual respect, and camaraderie, with zero tolerance for discrimination, racism, harassment, or conduct that undermines the values of our sport.
None of this can be achieved by the Executive Committee alone. Our sport is built by every athlete who steps onto the platform, every coach and referee, every volunteer working behind the scenes, every state association, and every member who continues to contribute to Malaysian powerlifting. You are the heart of this federation.
I believe the future of Malaysian powerlifting has never been brighter. We have the talent, the people, and the ambition to build something truly special. Together, let us raise the standard—not only in performance, but in professionalism, governance, and integrity—and build a federation that future generations will be proud to inherit.
Together, let us take Malaysian Powerlifting to the next level.
